KIDS’ CARNIVAL 2024: CINEMA, THEATER, WORKSHOPS AND PERFORMANCES

From Thursday, February 1 to Sunday, February 11, 2024, the 15th International Kid’s Carnival, presented by La Biennale di Venezia, will take place, with many film and theater events, workshops, and the novelty of dancing shows on ice.

The 2024 edition of the Kid’s Carnival will have the new features of a rich program of workshops and the extraordinary ice-skate dance show Murmuration by the Canadian company of artists and performers Le Patin Libre, for the first time in Italy, which will rerun for the duration of the event.

Activities on the mainland will be held at the Albanese Park Civic Center (Bissuola) and in the Rainbow Skating Track area, which will be transformed into an ice skating rink for the occasion.

The other various activities will be held in Venice’s Historic Center: on Friday, Feb. 2, children’s cinema screenings with the adventure film The Thief King, based on the novel of the same name by German writer Cornelia Funke, and from Feb. 5 to 8, theater performances, again at the Teatro Piccolo Arsenale (Campo della Tana).
In addition, at the Biennale’s historic headquarters at Ca’ Giustinian (San Marco, Calle del Ridotto), numerous creative and artistic workshops will be held from Feb. 3 to 11, with an immersive installation for schools and families from Feb. 3 to 4 and Feb. 10 to 11.

The International Kid’s Carnival is a project of La Biennale di Venzia that since 2010 has been targeting children, schools with their teachers and families, soliciting creativity and participation in young people and maintaining a constant direct, hands-on and active dialogue with participants.
