Arriving by plane at Venice’s Marco Polo Airport is an exciting experience for everyone, with views of the lagoon and its sandbanks, and the city rising above the water, nestled right in the middle, which can be admired (on the right) moments before landing.
Situated on the edge of the northern lagoon, Marco Polo Airport is only 7.5 kilometers (as the crow flies) from Piazzale Roma (Venice’s automobile terminal) and St. Mark’s Square, which can be reached by land and by water, and an equal distance from the center of Mestre, with which it is connected by regular buses or private cabs.
Those who land at Treviso’s Canova Airport can reach Venice by a convenient shuttle service provided by ATVO, bound for Piazzale Roma. Alternatively, they can reach Treviso station and then take a train to Venice Santa Lucia train station.
