June 9 sees the return of Venice Open Water – Nuadalogna, the most eagerly awaited swimming race of the year, starting at the Blue Moon bathing establishment in Venice Lido. The race village will be open from the morning and it will be possible to compete in three different categories: NuotaSprint, non-competitive and also open to non-professional athletes; NuotaIlMile and Nuota3.5k, competitive and therefore open only for professional athletes.

One of the most anticipated events of the summer is definitely the Feast of the Redeemer (Festa del Redentore), celebrated with the classic fireworks display that will once again light up the sky above St. Mark’s Basin. One of the most coveted, and peaceful, locations and views of the fireworks display is right on the Lido Lagoon-front riviera, which faces St. Mark’s Basin. The festivity is deeply felt by Venetians, and both the spectacular and religious aspects coexist in it, as well as the occasion to commemorate the end of the terrible plague epidemic that struck Venice between 1575 and 1577.
