Lo Squero: concerts on the water, from classical to contemporary music

“Lo Squero” Auditorium is one of the most fascinating concert halls in Venice (and perhaps in the world) where perfect acoustics and location combines the delight of sound with that of a unique view. The new concert season, from March 4 to December 16, touches the shores of both classical and contemporary music, exploring the lands of innovation and contamination.

The public will be able to listen to a great variety of genres and authors, belonging to different eras. Mario Brunello on cello, Gile Bae on piano and the Accademia Strumentale Italiana will present many Bach masterpieces; the Quartetto di Venezia will perform the complete Beethoven’s quartets compositions, and pay tribute to Malipiero, on the fiftieth anniversary of his death. Jazz will be present with the much awaited Uri Caine, and poetry with Mariangela Gualtieri. Antonio Fresa will transport the audience to his “Vatican Chapels” (the pavilion of the Holy See at the 2018 Architecture Biennale, which has become permanent, at the Cini Foundation), while thanks to the voice of Giulia Bolcato the notes of 17th-century Venice will be revived.

The fourteen concerts, from March to December (all starting at 4.30 pm), are organized by Asolo Musica, in collaboration with the Giorgo Cini Foundation.
