The Venice Hospitality Challenge is the only sailing competition in the world that takes place entirely in a city’s inland waters, and this year marks its 12th edition.
The start, announced by water jets from Panfido tugboats, will be Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 1:30 pm. A double start is planned with participants being divided by the Race Committee into two categories that, based on the characteristics of each boat, will start two minutes apart.

The awards ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the VYP dock at Zattere, where the Barcolana Venice Hospitality Trophy will also be awarded, a Challenge trophy for the best-ranked boat considering the best results in the Barcolana Maxi Trofeo Portopiccolo and Venice Hospitality Challenge. As always, the spectators will be able to watch the entire regatta unfold from the shores of St. Mark’s Basin, from Punta della Dogana to Zattere. It will also be possible to admire up close the boats moored at the floating dock positioned in the Giudecca Canal thanks to the cooperation of the Port Authority, the Harbour Master’s Office and the VAC Foundation.

The Venice Hospitality Challenge 2025, which since its inception has seen the support and participation of the five-star Venetian hotel industry, will see internationally renowned skippers compete for the coveted Doge’s Hat, the trophy made this year by the historic Murano glass factory Simone Cenedese.
An official event of the Venetian Fall, the “Regatta of the Hotels” has grown in prestige and popularity over time and this year becomes part of the program of ICOMIA 2025 (International Council of Marine Industry Associations), the world meeting of tourist marinas to be held in Venice (Certosa Island) from October 15 to 17.
