The International Art Exhibition and the International Architecture Exhibition–which alternate every year–are just two among the much awaited artistic and cultural events organized by La Biennale di Venezia.
As always, in 2025 the world-renowned international exhibition and the festivals–Theater, Dance, Cinema, and Music–will present to the public the most appreciated and emblematic works and artists of our days.
Moreover, during the Venice Carnival, La Biennale presents special activities and events dedicated to kids.
Here are the 2025 events in Venice at venues in the Giardini, Arsenale, Lido and other spaces in the city and mainland.
La stella dentro (The Star Inside) is the title of the 69th International Festival of Contemporary Music by La Biennale di Venezia, taking place in Venice from October 11 to 25, in the various venues listed below, at Ca’ Giustinian and the Arsenale. The festival is directed by Caterina Barbieri.
The Festival aims to explore cosmic music. «With this poetic definition–writes Caterina Barbieri–we are not referring to a specific style or musical tradition, but rather to the generative power of music to create new worlds, beyond rigid definitions of genre or historical affiliation…»
«The Festival program is rooted in electronic music and minimalism, branching out into ancient, contemporary, folk, drone music, techno, and Afrofuturism to offer the most vivid and fluid view of the contemporary possible, representing the music of the present in all its richness, diversity, and inclusivity.»
The 69th Festival will also feature Carl Craig, a legend of Detroit’s second wave of techno, whose electronic pioneering explores the city’s rich Afrofuturist heritage from a cosmological perspective of sound as an imagination of new possible futures. The two-night program From the Far Future will be held at Forte Marghera, drawing inspiration from these ideas and inviting Carl Craig to participate with one of his DJ sets on the opening night at Pavilion 30.
The rich schedule includes performances by Moritz Von Oswald, Meredith Monk, Nkisi, Suzanne Ciani in collaboration with Actress, Ecco2K, William Basinski, and the cult drone metal duo Sunn O)).
The program is subject to change.
